Pronation is a normal, healthy joint action, but it can cause problems when it becomes excessive. Dr. Ray looks at what's happening at the joints at the back of the foot during pronation and demonstrates why conventional footwear, including most athletic shoes, creates a situation in which overpronation is unavoidable. He also demonstrates how to use toe splay and foot-healthy footwear to help check excessive pronation and prevent lower leg problems.
